Add Polygon (MATIC) , Binance Smart Chain (BSC) Network and Arbitrum to MetaMask: A Comprehensive Guide.

Integrating additional networks like Polygon (MATIC), Binance Smart Chain (BSC), and Arbitrum into your MetaMask wallet expands your ability to interact with a broader range of decentralized applications. This guide provides detailed instructions for adding all three networks.

Adding Polygon (MATIC) Network

  • Visit the official MetaMask website and download the browser extension. Compatible browsers include Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Edge. Mobile apps are available for iOS and Android.
  • Follow the setup instructions provided by MetaMask. Pay special attention to the backup seed phrase step. It’s crucial to write this down on a piece of paper for security and avoid storing it on your computer or phone.
  • Once you have set up your wallet, your MetaMask account is ready. The default view typically shows the Ethereum Mainnet.
  • In MetaMask, click on 'Networks' and then select ‘Custom RPC’ to add a new network.
  • Fill in the following information in the respective fields to add the Polygon Mainnet:
    • Network Name: Polygon Mainnet
    • New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com/
    • Chain ID: 137
    • Symbol: MATIC
    • Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.matic.network
  • Congratulations! You’ve successfully added the Polygon network to your MetaMask. You’re now ready to participate in activities on Propellor that utilize the Polygon network.

Adding Binance Smart Chain (BSC) Network

  • In your MetaMask wallet, go to 'Networks' and select ‘Custom RPC’ to add a new network.
  • Input the following information for Binance Smart Chain:
    • Network Name: Binance Smart Chain
    • New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
    • Chain ID: 56
    • Symbol: BNB
    • Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com
  • With these settings, the Binance Smart Chain network is now integrated into your MetaMask wallet.

Adding Arbitrum Network

  • Ensure MetaMask is Installed: Make sure you have the MetaMask extension installed in your browser or the mobile app on your iOS or Android device. Follow the basic setup if you haven't already, paying close attention to securing your backup seed phrase.
  • Access Network Settings: Open your MetaMask wallet. The default network is usually the Ethereum Mainnet. Click on 'Networks' at the top and then select ‘Custom RPC’ to add a new network.
  • Enter Arbitrum Network Details: Fill in the following information in the respective fields to add the Arbitrum network:
    • Network Name: Arbitrum One
    • New RPC URL: https://arb1.arbitrum.io/rpc
    • Chain ID: 42161
    • Symbol: ETH (This remains ETH as Arbitrum is a layer-2 solution for Ethereum)
    • Block Explorer URL: https://arbiscan.io/
  • Finalize and Use: Once you've entered all the details, click ‘Save.’ The Arbitrum network will now be added to your MetaMask wallet, and you can start using it to interact with decentralized applications that operate on the Arbitrum layer-2 solution.
